Some Bee Blocks
This is one of my blocks for Hillary - Entropy Always Wins - for Bee Sewcial. Hillary asked us to explore the theme "layers" and she gave us these beautiful colours to work with. You can read her inspiration post here.
With this block, I just wanted to see if I could make that blue triangle sink to the bottom. I love improv triangles, and this one is so saturated.
When Hillary asked for layers, I kept thinking about the mountain skyline that I see from the Gulf Islands looking towards Vancouver - layers of landscape. And this is my other block.
I just love this bee, it is always fun.
Best,
Leanne
These are fantastic colors and I love the depth that you created with both blocks. And thinking about the block that you created based on layers of landscape: Atmospheric Perspective - it's something I think about a lot.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. Love hearing about the inspiration behind everyone's blocks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing! How? Just curved piecing? Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI do not think of entropy when I am sewing (unless when you mean the mess in my sewing room), but these blcoks are awesome!! Beautiful fabrics.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is impressive! It is like the layers on a map to show the high areas like mountains. x Teje
ReplyDeleteAmazing - I just pulled out turquoise, yellow and orange fabric - not quite the same colors/shades as your beautiful triangle but close - maybe it's the full moon! Beautiful design.
ReplyDeleteYour curves look fantastic--so smooth and crisp! These block totally make me want to go practice my improv curves!
ReplyDeleteAmazing curves. It's a great block. Love the colour choices.
ReplyDeleteVery fun to see all these blocks being created. I especially like the top one with the triangles.
ReplyDeleteThese are the colours I am working with right now too (teal and orange). Then my quilting friend started a big pieced wall hanging of a goldfish, also teal and orange. All the cool people must be using these colours at this moment! :)
ReplyDeleteStunning colours!
ReplyDeleteMagic with the colors, cutting, vision. Glad I came by!
