Scrappy Plans - Scraptastic Tuesday
First today, I wanted to remind you that next Tuesday is the second Tuesday of the month and so it will be our February Scraptastic Tuesday link up. Please join us by linking a scrappy project or your thoughts on using scraps or organizing them, or otherwise dealing with your scrap mountain. I'll start rounding up the sponsors today.
Next, despite the fact that I am settling in nicely to using my scraps. I even have sorted out a leader and ender project, I did not really use any of my scrap mountain last week.
I can say that I am working on a quilt that I will be able to show you very soon. I decided to use the left over fabric for the back and added that scrappy binding too. The "use it all up now" approach with new projects is working nicely to keep the scrap mountain from growing even more.
I am hoping this week to catch up on my scrappy Liberty blocks following along with Nicky's scrappy QAL, and I thought it best to make a list of my other scrappy projects for easy reference. I am truly love them all, and want to focus on them rather than starting too many others - especially as I have some new fabrics I also want to play with this week. So here is my list:
1. Nicky's scrappy sampler, using Liberty scraps.
2. Large X blocks.
3. Improv blocks.
4. Blended scraps - tutorial here.
5. Improv stars as leaders and enders.
Of course, there are some other scrappy projects I want to start - including something like Nicky's latest (go here to see it), which is very similar to Debbie's recent quilt Junctions (go here to see it). My startitis gets really bad in the winter months it seems.
Maybe you have some scrappy plans, remember to share them and link up with us next Tuesday.
Best,
Leanne
Wow there is ALWAYS something new to catch our eye isn't there? Btw, this weekend Grandgirl was over and 'designing' on the design wall with my scraps. I was impressed that she noticed, 'you have some new ones in here, Grammy!' ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh! Thanks for the reminder about the link-up next Tuesday. Off to plan a post!
ReplyDeleteThose blended scrap blocks are great! Must try them out!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great line up! I have seen something about leaders and enders Somewhere, but can't quite remember how they work in practice? Can you remind me?
ReplyDeleteMine are a lot smaller than Debbie' s but they suit the scraps I have! I think I should make a list too....of all the scrappy projects I want to start!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks and usage of scraps.
ReplyDeleteDare I ask if your scrap bins are any emptier?! Great projects regardless of the answer. I have lots of scrappy plans but am not starting until other things are finished, though I did get a non quilting friend started on making scrappy log cabins last week.
ReplyDeleteScraps are so much fun and you are very creative with them.
