Welcome! If you are new here, I'm Leanne, I live in Alberta, Canada and I blog about quilting. I hope you will poke around and get to know me a little, maybe by checking out the My Quilts page here. I'll show off a few of them here for you too.
For Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day I have that beautiful bundle of 11 fat quarters of fabrics from Doe and Architextures both designed by Carolyn Freidlander. I purchased the bundle from Daryl over at Fabric Spark and she is holding it to ship it off to the winner for me anywhere in the world, as soon as the draw is done.
I have to tell you that these fabrics are even better in person. Surprisingly they are available in Canada (and the U.K.) early and I have a bunch of my own already.

If you like urban fantasy books I think the best series out now is the October Daye books by Seanan Mcguire - protagonist is half-faerie and the books are incredibly well researched when it comes to incorporating the myths and legends about the fae.
I've been watching Sleepy Hollow on huluplus. I love that it doesn't take itself too seriously, though the characters play it straight. It has a really diverse cast and the lead character is a woman. edeloof@gmail.com
I've been listening to Idina Menzel's Christmas album, Holiday Wishes, a whole lot lately, and I heartily recommend it to everyone. It's such lovely and soothing Christmas music.

I am more of a quilter than a knitter, but I am quite impressed by the podcasts from Woolful. My Mom brought me the video Saving Mr. Banks and says it is good. The last time I watched a series on Netflix I chose North and South about an English cotton mill village. I saw your AQS quilt in person and remain amazed.

I find it difficult to watch TV & sew...am not very productive when I stop & watch the screen, especially when the background music indicates something worth watching! My favorite music, especially now, is Lori Line...she is a wonderful pianist and plays with an outstanding orchestra of jazzy music...my favorite song is her jazzed-up version of Frosty the Snowman!
I love the HBO series 'The Newsroom' - its a wonderful, fast-paced series in it's 3rd year. Its not necessarily a Christmas themed TV show, but very entertaining.

OMG I got lost in the comments...now have added several titles to my list of books, and some TV shows, love British TV...Okay, stick to the topic, Sandra! Books: am currently reading Bel Canto by Ann Patchett and loving it. Really different, intelligent, the kind you think on when you're not reading it. Totally agree with people who recommended Outlander books, and the TV series is remarkably true to the books, rare in TV/film versions. Also The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman, so well-researched and absolutely amazing true story. TV: Call the MIdwife, and I also love Once Upon a Time, past seasons of which are on Netflix. Wallander, also on Netflix, and the books are excellent. Music: Born in Alberta, myself, I grew up listening to CKUA, thanks to my mum. I'm so happy I can listen to it online now that I no longer live there! Best. Radio. Ever. CD: Heart of Compassion--first discovered in a yoga class, and I use it in the classes I now teach, as well as often in my sewing room! I could go on and on.... oops already have! Think I'll come back to this page time and again for more recommendations, like I need to add more to my mile-long list of what to read next....lol :-) LOOOOOVE this fabric! So generous of you.
