My scrappy projects are moving along slowly because I spend most of last week matchstick quilting. I did make a couple more Xs for my improv scrappy X bed size quilt. I am going to need a lot more Xs and some bigger ones too. I need to cut a bunch of backgrounds to have handy for those moments when I just want to sew. Maybe Nicky, my scraptastic partner over at Mrs. Sew and Sow has more to show, her projects are always beautiful and inspiring.
That background, which is a print from the Gramercy line by Leah Duncan is fantastic, I might need to order more - although that may be wrong for a scrappy project I suppose.
I have been visiting all the Scraptastic Tuesday links from the link up last week. If you have not visited these folks, I do recommend it - go here. I have more projects on my list now.
For example, there is the most beautiful jeans quilt over at Ozzypip Quilts. It is self backing and would make the most beautiful summer blanket for picnics or the hammock. I have a lot of ripped jeans in a pile, maybe its time to cut them up.
I also read about separating out "crumbs" and using them to make rainbow blocks, using small scraps for EPP (yes, I know that is obvious to most of you) and remembering to turn to scraps for small projects like zipper pouches. The scrap ideas are all good, thank you everyone.

That jeans quilt is fantastic, back in the day I started "quilting" again by making simple jeans quilts, not like this one, but just patchwork style with frayed edges on one side...though I have to say I killed a sewing machine after about 4 of them. My goal is to link up in December! I just started sewing some scrappy stuff lately!
I really like those x's I've been saving jeans for a project but don't know what to make quite yet.
Congrats Winners! See y'all next month!
your x quilt is coming along well, no you should not be buying fabric for a scrappy!
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for hosting.
Great gifts - congrats to the winners! I love your X quilt! And I believe scrappy is not just using "scraps" only. For me, is a style where I use many different fabrics where traditionally I would have only used one. I start by using as many scraps as I can, but then I go to my stash for other fabrics to fill out what I need. I often buy fabrics specifically for scrappy quilts and add them to my "color" stash. Just not yards and yards of it. I rarely buy more than half a yard anymore unless it's on sale or a backing. Of course, there's always more than one way to accomplish a goal - If you really love that fabric and want to use only true scraps, then buy more and use some of it on another project - then it will truly be a scrap LOL!!!
I like these X blocks. Very cool. Congrats to the winners
I love it when your page loads and opens up and I say "Oh, Ooh, Wow!" Loving folks' projects! It'll take all week to wander through them :) XX!
Congrats to the winners. So.... there are no rules in quilting you know - if you need to buy a certain fabric for a scrap quilt... just buy a lot - and use a scrap in this quilt, and a scrap in that quilt, and a scrap in another - and it all makes perfect sense ( and reasoning lol)
Thanks for the links, esp the denim quilt! Love it
