Don't be late, get your Q3 finishes linked by midnight today

she can quilt

I've been watching the finishes being posted at the Q3 link and they are wonderful. If you have not yet posted your finishes, do it now by going here. You have until tonight, Monday October 7, 2013 at midnight Mountain Standard Time (which is well after midnight for many of you and for some it is well into the next day, so there should be no excuses.) Remember each finish is a separate entry into the draws for the prizes from our generous sponsors so get those finishes linked. If you are having trouble, send me an email - shecanquilt [at] gmail [dot] com - and I will get you sorted.

We've has great tutorials this past week, thank you to our excellent tutorial writers. The tutorials were:

You will be able to find these tutorials later on both the 2013 FAL Tab and my Tutorials tab at the top of this blog.

And I have been doing some quilting this week. Last weekend I started Cycles 2, which will finish at about 39" x 40". Over this last week I quilted this quilt with more matchstick quilting.

Cycles 2 - sundrenched

If you follow me on instagram, you will have seen some of the progress of this quilting, it took a long while to do. And I love how the early morning sun shows it off.

Cycles 2 - in progress

Here she is now - I still need to trim and bind her. I am debating whether to do a regular binding using the background Essex linen or whether I should do a faced binding, following Elizabeth's Q2 tutorial. What would you do?

Last thing to remind you of is that once we have all the Q3 finishes linked, tomorrow the link will open to post your Q4 to do list. Remember, there are no penalties for not finishing something on your list. I have been thinking about my list, I am not sure if I should just go large or stick to a list I am more likely to complete, I will decide soon.

I hope you had a lovely weekend, it's Monday and off to work for me.

Best,

Leanne

LOVE your circle quilt! I've never done it but I almost thing the faced binding would be the thing to finish it off. But either will be gorgeous!!!

I'd face it - it's a lovely piece of art, and deserves the artwork worthy finish! Such terrific work - you should be so proud.

Am I the only one who asks for a regular binding? Well, I am. I think the space and the circles need something to contain them. (My .02)

Now I'll have to see what you decide to do!
