Last night the mom robin was feeding them and I could see beaks poking up. She is absent more now to get food and I worry that she is leaving them too long. Can you believe it, now I am turning into silly bird person.
I just took that one this morning. The oldest babies are one week old tomorrow. You can see the feathers growing in.
That photo was from last night, so they are 4 or 5 days old, they hatched over about 2 full days.
This is just a quick update, off to the glamorous world of working all the time.

Birding is addicting. I've got 3 bluebird boxes on my property and I usually get at least one set of bluebirds in them. The other boxes end up with wrens. I can't peek in on the wrens because their nests are made with twigs, which fall out if I open the box. But I check in on the bluebirds every few days to see how they're doing. I feed them mealworms all spring and summer. I've yet to have a robin or cardinal nest in my yard, but I keep hoping. Thanks for sharing.
I am enjoying these photos. I haven't witnessed a nest of baby birds since I was a kid.

It looks like a very special Robin! Ours our smaller and have a darker red breast.
Isn’t it amazing how nature works. Those tiny feathers will soon become little wings and then they will be able to examine the world outside the nest. Scary...!
