Architextures for the Blog Hop Party

Picture from Heidi at Fabric Mutt
I have another giveaway, it seems appropriate in the holiday season. Michele is celebrating her 5th Blog Birthday at Quilter's Gallery and since 5 years of blogging is pretty cool, I am joining in.

My giveaway is a 17 piece Fat Quarter Bundle of Architextures, with is the brand new line by Carolyn Friedlander that I have been waiting for - it is just wonderful.

To win, you need to leave me one comment sharing your favourite book, audio book or television series or at least one you might recommend to me. I hope to spend some time over the holidays relaxing under a quilt and would love some ideas to go along with all the movie suggestions I received last week.

Picture from Heidi at Fabric Mutt
This giveaway is open until 9 pm MST Saturday, December 15, 2012 and is open to anyone anywhere in the world. In fact, I don't actually have this fabric in hand, as I had hoped to give away another thing that is still in transit. So I went shopping for this wonderful prize and once I have a winner, I will have the lovely Amanda from Westwoodacres send it to you directly (this is not a sponsored giveaway). I borrowed these beautiful pictures from Heidi who blogs at Fabric Mutt - not only is she really nice, she also takes excellent pictures.

**** I will pick the winner by random number generator after the draw closes. Please make sure you have an email attached to your profile or leave it in your comment. If there is no way to contact you I will immediately draw again. This fabric is excellent, you don't want to miss out. ****

Michele at Quilter's Gallery now has a list of all the bloggers who are celebrating with her up on this page. There will be many excellent giveaways to go and enter and I wish you good luck.

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

P.S. That other thing I ordered to give away is great too. Watch this space, I will give it away after it arrives, maybe to celebrate New Years.

**** This contest is now closed. I will draw and announce the winner in the morning. ****
Best,

Leanne

Oh my god, it is so difficult to pick one favourite book or tv show.

I really enjoyed the BBC version of Sherlock, Dr. Who, Dexter, Diary of a Callgirl, True Blood. You probably know all of these but in Germany most TV shows are really crappy so we have to turn to English ones that are not on telly here.

Books... hm, you could try "Let's pretend this never happened".
The Sookie Stackhouse novels, short and entertaining.
Mort or other Terry Pratchett books.
And I really love "Rumo: And his Miraculous Adventures" and "Labyrinth of Dreaming Books" from Walter Moers. They both are just fantastic, very inspiring and the author illustrated them very nicely himself. I absolutely recommend them to everybody and so far everybody loved them.

If you're looking for something light hearted and fun, I highly recommend watching The Big Bang Theory. It's my favorite :) As far as books go, one of my favorites is The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer. It's written for upper elementary/middle school aged kids, but it's great! I actually probably wouldn't even recommend it to kids, it's got stuff that they wouldn't understand in it. Any of Nancy Farmer's books are great though!

As books go i would really suggest anything by Tamora Pierce, I just love getting lost in her fantasty land. I also love how all of her books tie in to the same world. Kresley Cole is another author that i would suggest, especially her immortals after dark series (warning, romance novels)

Hi Leanne,
Favorite series- old or new- we have The Newsroom on PVR to watch and watched the first one of the 11 shows recently. It is terrific. Downton Abbey is very popular and they are opening the third season in January. We also loved the show Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire but they are quite graphic in places- not something you want to watch when young children are around..
Lots of great stuff to watch.
Regards from Edmonton,
Anna

I love to read so I have a few suggestions for you:

For light reading I love anything by Lisa Jewell. She writes mainly romances but they often have a melancholy edge to them which I think sets her apart from most of the 'chick lit'.

I've recently enjoyed Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch (and its sequels Moon over Soho and Whispers Underground) which are about a young police officer in London who encounters a ghost and finds himself recruited by a small branch of the Metropolitan police that deals with the supernatural

And finally I love the novels of Jasper Fforde - they are really difficult to explain his most popular series feature Thursday Next, Literary detective who can enter books. They are bomnkers but brilliant and the first one is called The Eyre Affair.

Sarah said...

The "autobiography" ME CHEETA is a most amusing read, all about the star studded scandalous life of the original Cheeta the Chimp from Tarzan movie fame... :-)

Those are lovely fabrics and I'd love to win them. My favorite book right now is (beside the scriptures) anything by Louis L'Amour. I know, I know.....but I've been studying writing in order to write what I want in a book and he has a style that is interesting and exciting. And I love cowboys and horses. Right. This is a girl who loves Shakespeare, etc., and who had read James Joyce and other weird authors....and now I'm reading Louis L'Amour. Who'd a thunk it? Thanks for letting us visit and carry on. Come by and visit me too and follow when you have time. Tell me what you like most to read. Do you have a kindle or something like that? I do....it makes it so easy to devour an author, bit by bit. I read all I could find of Maeve Binchy, too. Fascinating.

I am rereading Gone with the Wind, Scarlett, & Rhett Butler's People right now; they're a pretty good trio of books. The only TV show I really watch is The Walking Dead. Awesome show if you're into that genre.

I just finished watching the 1st season of Copper and I enjoyed it. Here is the description:
In its most significant original programming commitment to date, BBC AMERICA has announced its first original scripted drama series, “Copper”. The 10 episode series, which centers on a young Irish cop operating in the immigrant communities of 19th century New York, is co-created by Tom Fontana (OZ, Homicide: Life on the Street, St. Elsewhere) and Will Rokos (Monster’s Ball, Southland).
