Dexter fur shure , Sherlock Holmes with Benedict Cumberbatch (two seasons I think) , Downton Abbey I'm sure you've already been given that one, books oh I am a Canadian lit girl... The Margaret's , Lawrence and Atwood, Alice Monroe , all,of Robertson Davies , John Irving (well he lives in T.O. Even if he is a New Hampshire guy). I too have been seeking out some good reading for the break, can't wait to leave the political wranglings of education in Ontario behind for a couple of weeks and sink into some good stories. Merry Merry Leona good luck on your quest for good entertainment

If you're looking for something light hearted and fun, I highly recommend watching The Big Bang Theory. It's my favorite :) As far as books go, one of my favorites is The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer. It's written for upper elementary/middle school aged kids, but it's great! I actually probably wouldn't even recommend it to kids, it's got stuff that they wouldn't understand in it. Any of Nancy Farmer's books are great though!
As books go i would really suggest anything by Tamora Pierce, I just love getting lost in her fantasty land. I also love how all of her books tie in to the same world. Kresley Cole is another author that i would suggest, especially her immortals after dark series (warning, romance novels)
Hi Leanne,
Favorite series- old or new- we have The Newsroom on PVR to watch and watched the first one of the 11 shows recently. It is terrific. Downton Abbey is very popular and they are opening the third season in January. We also loved the show Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire but they are quite graphic in places- not something you want to watch when young children are around..
Lots of great stuff to watch.
Regards from Edmonton,
Anna

This is a girl who loves Shakespeare, etc., and who had read James Joyce and other weird authors....and now I'm reading Louis L'Amour. Who'd a thunk it? Thanks for letting us visit and carry on. Come by and visit me too and follow when you have time. Tell me what you like most to read. Do you have a kindle or something like that? I do....it makes it so easy to devour an author, bit by bit.
